Vietnam and NVIDIA Partner to Establish Two AI Development Centers
The National Innovation Center (NIC) of Vietnam announced that Vietnam has partnered with NVIDIA to establish the Vietnam Artificial Intelligence Research and Development Center (VRDC) and the Vietnam AI Data Center.
The collaboration is the result of an agreement signed between the Vietnamese government and the company during the second visit of NVIDIA founder, president and CEO Jensen Huang to Vietnam. The agreement was signed by Vietnamese government representatives, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung and Jay Puri, Executive Vice President of Global Business Operations at NVIDIA.
In an interview with reporters, Nguyen Chi Dung said that this cooperation with NVIDIA is of great significance to Vietnam, which fully demonstrates Vietnam's potential and status in the field of high technology, especially in artificial intelligence research and development capabilities. The agreement also shows the Vietnamese government's determination to "catch up, advance and surpass" in the field of artificial intelligence.
Development opportunities for Vietnam's artificial intelligence ecosystem
Nguyen Chi Dung said that the construction of an artificial intelligence research and development center that meets world standards and is invested and operated by leading technology company NVIDIA is a necessity and an important prerequisite for the development of Vietnam's artificial intelligence ecosystem, thereby promoting the research and development and application of advanced artificial intelligence technologies.
The center will attract many talents to work and live in Vietnam, and attract NVIDIA's huge resources to flow into Vietnam. NVIDIA will support Vietnam's talent training programs in the field of artificial intelligence and other high-tech fields.
Nguyen Chi Dung emphasized that "this will be an important booster for Vietnam to make great progress in the field of science and technology in the near future, and it will have a spillover effect on other high-tech investors in the world. In the future, both sides will redouble their efforts to implement the commitments in the agreement as soon as possible."
Economic expert Associate Professor Nguyen Changlong highly praised the significance and development opportunities of this cooperation, which is regarded as an important step in Vietnam's economic structural transformation and improving national competitiveness. He pointed out that “the cooperation with NVIDIA reflects Vietnam’s determination to develop high-tech, advanced technology and cutting-edge technology in accordance with Vietnam’s high-tech industry development strategy. This cooperation confirms that Vietnam is a trustworthy destination for foreign investors and also shows Vietnam’s determination to adjust its economic structure and cultivate high-quality human resources.
